In the ever-changing, fast-paced world of fashion and lifestyle trends, we all seem to constantly await the next big craze in an effort to look our best. It’s no surprise we see women around the world pour over fashion blogs, runway releases and celebrity magazine’s in a never-ending quest to mimic the tastemakers of our era. Just a quick glance around any cosmopolitan city will garner views of countless well groomed and fully made-up ladies all looking their best and basking in the admiration of their peers…but what about the men?

In today’s fashion driven societies, male attention to grooming and style is gaining popularity. Today’s men want to look and feel just as fashionable and stylish as their female counterparts and that usually starts with the art of facial grooming. In the last few years, we have started to see more and more men, ages spanning from teens to elderly, stray away from the clean-shaven, bare-faced looks of yesterday in favor of more ruggedly handsome groomed jawlines…and the ladies are noticing! Women perceive men with facial hair as more attractive, capable, calm, mature and charismatic. It’s no wonder facial hair aficionados from countries around the world are taking ownerships of new looks and trends they create, giving rise to country-specific monikers like the “Italian, American, German & French” style shaves.

Leading the trend in Turkey is Men’s Grooming Expert and Aroos Joon favorite, Adem Terzi of the Adem Terzi Barber’s Club where facial hair is used to model art. His “Turkish Shave” is all the current rage in Istanbul and has the public lining up for his master grooming techniques.

So, what is this Turkish Shave?

Most importantly, the look is so natural to the facial structure of the man wearing it, it remains easy to style and maintain on a daily basis. Adem is shown here excitedly revealing this new look to his client. The technique he used to style this look involves removing volume while adding pattern and depth to hair without damaging the hair structure. Of course the other side effect is the massive appeal and attention this look is drawing from the local women.

Adem also celebrates volume by, leaving some very long hair to complement the short hair adjacent to it. In this model, and with the help of special grooming scissors, an asymmetrical style cutting lends a great depth to the finished look. The hair looks very natural and stays easy to style after the initial cut. Adem is seen here giving a “thumbs up,” having completed the “Turkish Shave” and deeming this hairstyle the ideal look for those with a dominant face.

Adem expects the Turkish Shave to be a huge trend and embraced by the whole world in the coming months. Lucky for Turkey, they get it first!
